This seminar offers a deep insight into modern drive concepts for hybrid and electric commercial vehicles. Participants learn to calculate driving resistances and driving cycles and gain basic knowledge of electrical engineering, including the electromagnetic field and magnetic parameters. You will learn how electric machines work and how they can design the electromagnetic rotating field, whether by distributed winding or single-tooth winding. The seminar sheds light on the functionality and control characteristics of asynchronous machines (ASM), synchronous machines (permanently excited PSM and electrically excited ESM) and reluctance machines (SRM) and shows their connection with PSM. In addition, the different types of machines in terms of service life, power, torque and costs are compared with car drive systems and their efficiency, size as well as advantages and disadvantages are analyzed. Topics such as temperature behavior, insulation classes, vibrations and the mechanical and thermal limits of these innovative technologies are also covered.
